Agricultural residues can carry soil, silica and fines. Wet cleaning systems use equipment such as pulpers, aqua separators, screw presses and screens to help prepare a more consistent feedstock for later processing.
After cooking, pulp is typically washed to separate fibre from spent liquor. Brown stock washing, oxygen delignification, bleach washing and thickening are process stages that can be configured for the required grade and recovery approach.
When produced to the relevant performance and safety specifications, non-wood pulp can be considered for paper, board and moulded-fibre applications. Material selection and process design should always be validated for the intended end use.
